TPT Academic integrity policy
Taking a course online requires self-discipline, commitment, and absolute academic integrity
Taking a full diploma requires that much more. At TPT International School, we enforce it and call upon each student to demonstrate the highest measure of academic integrity to not undermine our educational philosophy at TPT International School.
Examples of what we consider Academic Dishonesty are but are not limited to:
- Submitting writing in whole or in part taken from another student or other source that is not the original work of the student submitting the writing
- Submitting an essay or any other material from the internet in whole or in part and using it as one’s own without citing the source and using quotations
- Paraphrasing another student’s or author’s work without citing the source
- Using the original ideas of another student or author without citing the source
- Resubmitting work that was originally written for another teacher’s course or another subject in whole or in part
- Sharing any information with peers in regards to the content of assessments, including quizzes, tests, or exams
- Cheating or attempting to cheat on tests or quizzes. This can be done through using unauthorized notes, copying another student’s answers, allowing someone to copy one’s answers, text messaging or any other device to send or receive answers, or in any way, giving or receiving answers that are not one’s own
- Allowing your work to be copied or copying (or sharing) homework, class assignments, projects, or any other assigned work from another student or anyone else
- Tampering with a teacher’s grades

Strict Disciplinary Consequences
The consequences for academic dishonesty are as follows:
First Strike
The teacher may freely fail the student in the assignment and may not allow the student to resubmit. However, the adult advocate can speak on the student’s behalf. The teacher notifies the parents and the administration of the offense for official documentation.
Second Strike
The teacher freely fails the student in the assignment, and the student is not allowed to resubmit. The teacher then arranges a phone conference with the assigned adult advocate, parents, and an administrator. Depending on the severity of the instance of academic dishonesty, a short suspension is issued.
Third Strike
The student is placed on academic probation and may face disciplinary consequences from the Academic Affairs Department. The teacher arranges a phone conference with an assigned adult advocate, parents, and administrators.
